CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS
Classes are offered through Metropolitan Community College and are only available online and accessible to everyone. Online classes require a smartphone, PC/Mac, or tablet with audio and video capabilities, internet connection of, at least, 25mbps, and Zoom or Google Meet.

HTML Basics

Acquire an understanding of website functionality by exploring the fundamentals of HTML, along with effective techniques for organizing and optimizing your files (images, text documents, etc.) in preparation for building a website. Discover new keyboard shortcuts and other valuable tips to streamline tasks for an enhanced learning experience. Students will need to know their way around a computer and will be tasked with creating a folder on the desktop, downloading files from the internet, creating a Google account (if applicable), confidently navigating between multiple browser tabs and open programs, and several other advanced beginner/intermediate level items during this class. If using a MAC, please have the Google Chrome browser installed.

Build a Website from Concept to Publication

Learn how to build a basic yet aesthetic website from start to finish with Weebly. This platform is great for small business, non-profits, or any venture that seeks to collect payments from customers or donors. We will explore design consistency, proper URL naming and acquisition, image editing, logos, build (using Weebly), add-ons (Google calendar, contact forms, PayPal buttons, etc.), proofing, and publication. Remember, this is a basic website, not an ecommerce powerhouse! Students will need to know their way around a computer! If using a MAC, please have the Google Chrome browser installed.

Designed specifically for older adults, this hands-on course will explain your phone and empower you to confidently adjust settings, download apps, set alarms, and so much more. The instructor is patient and prepared to answer your questions. The type of Android phones we will be working with are: Samsung, Motorola, Google, Nokia, etc.
